Vivarta Center for Performing Arts is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Indian classical dance, music and culture. Here students are nurtured and encouraged to explore the majestic world of Nrittya. Vivarta focuses on an all round development of not only the physical but also the spiritual aspects of an artist from the very begining. The legendary Tanjavur gharana (style) is followed for practising and cultivating dance. Students are encoureaged to think and work with contemporary ideas using traditional dance techniques. Students of Vivarta present their hard work through choregraphy in annual show before their parents, friends and also other professional artists. Vivarta is dedicated to building and developing budding talents to explore the majestic world of Nrittya and helps the student build self confidence through training. Vivarta celebrates various festivals through different performing art forms to nurture our rich culture with fun and excitement!

Jayeeta Banerjee is a noted Bharatnattyam practitioner in the world of Indian classical dance. A recipient of several awards, scholarships and titles, including National Nrutya Bhusan Samman and Pt Jasraj National Scholarship for Bharatanatyam. Jayeeta has devoted her life to dance and to achieving excellence at her art. She has gained wide acclaim and recognition from the press and audience from all over the world for her mesmerizing performances. She started her training in Bharatanatyam at the age of 6 under Guru Dr. Thankamani Kutty. Through rigorous training, devotion and dedication, Jayeeta started performing both solo and with Kalamandalam performing wing at a very young age. She joined and trained under Smt Lata Pada in Sampradaya Dance Creations in Canada. Presently, Jayeeta is the artistic director of Vivarta Center for Performing Arts, Toronto which is her institution dedicated to research and learning of Bharatnattyam. Jayeeta is also engaged in mentorship projects under Guru Sharmila Biswas and Smt Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya She also collaborates with artists from all over Canada, US, UK and India.
